Missing Jennifer Dulos: What You Need to Know

Jennifer Dulos, a Connecticut mother of five was reported missing on May 24, 2019. She was last seen driving a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban that she owned. Many believe she is dead as many items containing Jennifer’s blood was found.

The Stamford Advocate, a daily online newspaper in the state Jennifer disappeared in reports that after finding blood in Jennifer’s garage police believe Jennifer to be the victim of a “serious physical assault.”

Over a thousand tips have been called in to the New Cannan Police Department. Many people are working on the case. The New Cannan Police Department report that the “New Canaan Police Department Patrol Division and Investigative Section in partnership with the Connecticut State Police Western District and Central District Major Crime Squads, with the assistance of Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, and other Connecticut law enforcement agencies, [are all working] around the clock to locate Jennifer by exploring all leads and tips.”

Police arrested Jennifer’s estranged husband and father of her five children, Fotis Dulos, in connection to Jennifer’s disappearance. New Canaan Police report that Fotis has been charged with “tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and hindering prosecution.” Michelle Troconis, girlfriend of Fotis, also faces the same charges. The court set bail was set at $500,000 which they both posted, and they both pleaded not guilty.

Fotis Dulos’s attorney Norm Pattis released a statement saying that are actively investigating the possibility that this is a ‘Gone Girl’-type case. Norm Pattis claims a manuscript written by Jennifer greatly resembles the Gone Girl storyline. Gone Girl is a book and film that portrays a woman faking her own death and framing her husband for her murder. This defense is likely not to hold up as friends who have read the manuscript state that it was written long ago and has no resemblance to the book and movie. A man believed to be Fotis is also on camera dumping items containing Jennifer’s blood; one would be hard pressed to chalk this up to a Gone Girl type case when Fotis is on tape throwing out her bloody items on the day of her disappearance.

Missing Friend and Mother, Suspected Ex-Husband

Smart, dedicated, and loving are the words friends of Jennifer Dulos use to describe her. Jennifer, a beloved mother of five, went missing on May 24th, 2019. She was last seen dropping her kids off at school in New Canaan Connecticut.

Friends close to Jennifer believe her ex-husband is involved in her disappearance. They recall Jennifer Dulos being afraid of her husband Fotis, often calling him verbally abusive and maniacal. Friends believed that she often made comments alluding to the fact that he physically abused her. In a statement reported by CBS New York, Jennifer’s friends and family describe Jennifer as a “devoted mother; an extremely thoughtful, reliable, and organized woman… [She is also] gentle, kind, intelligent, and funny, and above all she prioritizes the health and happiness of her children.”

Eyewitness News interviewed Ronna-Marie Guiliano, former neighbor and dear friend of the Dulos Family. Guiliano described Jennifer as a “very thoughtful” and “peaceful person.” “On [Guiliano’s] birthday [Jennifer] sent [her] all white flowers… just all white…” Guiliano described how Fotis would anger easily; he would raise his volume and change his tone of voice at the smallest inconvenience. She said that Jennifer would always try to calm him down and fix the situation to quickly to avoid further embarrassment. Guiliano finished by saying that Jennifer was “creative… caring… and [that] she aimed to please her husband.”

Jennifer filed for divorce from her then husband Fotis Dulos in 2017 after learning Fotis had been cheating on her for over a year with a woman by the name of Michelle Troconis. Dulos made it clear in her divorce filing that she feared for her life. She also stated that she believed Fotis would harm her in some way because she had filed for divorce. That same year she tried to protect her children from Fotis by filing an emergency order to get full custody of all five of her children.

Fotis owes Jennifer’s family 1.7 million dollars. Jennifer’s family loaned money to Fotis prior to his divorce from Jennifer. Her family loaned Fotis the money so that he could have the financial backing to buy and develop homes. In 2018 two lawsuits were filed by Jennifer’s family claiming that Fotis had stopped making payments to repay those loans.
